This book contains the Odes and Islamic images that were adapted for a play by Scott Adkins called Black Dot and performed on March 14th, 2011 at Dixon Place as part of Little Theater. These Odes were inspired by looking at Islamic Art, listening/reading current events in 2005, and reading accounts in Varieties of Religious Experience by Willam James. The composer, Robert Wagner, a principal of The New Orleans Klezmer Allstars draws his musical inspiration for each ode from Middle-Eastern, Jewish, East- en European, and Western European influences. They are written for 3 voices: soprano, alto, and baritone. (Available for purchase for $20 - this is a limited hand-bound edition of 100).
